For the golfing enthusiast, there are at least 10 courses within a 15 minute drive. A public driving range is just 5 minutes away. Tennis can be played at the public courts in Venice or just around the corner from Manasota Beach Road.
Boats can be hired from several marinas in the area, plus there are also two Scuba diving shops in Venice. You can also hire bikes on the main road to Venice (we have two bikes in our garage). Cycle tracks line a long stretch of the Intracoastal from Shamrock Park, whilst the old railway line to Sarasota is also now a cycle and walkway. In Venice & Englewood, you will also discover a wealth of parks and nature reserves.
Stables for riding and pony trekking are also nearby. For fishing you have Venice pier and of course our own beach, plus those at Blind Pass and Englewood, plus the Intracoastal – the coastline is superb for shelling too and our beach is famous for collecting fossilized sharks teeth!
A Frank’s multiplex cinema is just 5 minutes drive away and the Venice bowling alley is 10 minutes drive.
As for other places of interest: Sarasota offers great shopping, restaurants and Cinemas, whilst Boca Grande, Punta Gorda, Myakka State National Park, St Petersburg, Sanibel plus Captiva are all within easy reach. Orlando and Disney are just a two-hour drive away.
